Improvement at The Red Barn
Last Thursday was Jian’s last horse therapy lesson. She will take a break over the summer due to the extreme heat and then hopefully she will want to do another 10 week series this Fall. When she started a few months ago, the instructor would basically have to pick her up and put her on the horse. This time, she raised her left leg up, put her foot in the stirrup and swung her right leg over to get on the horse without any help! She rode independently, including standing up in the stirrups, which they call “Two Point” position. She also allowed the horse to gallop a few yards, which she was previously terrified to do. I am so thankful for the staff and volunteers at The Red Barn and for the progress Jian has made in just 10 short weeks there!
